Story

Around 10p.m on Wednesday Janice was at the back of her motor house parked on Beach boulevard when her dog had knocked her 9 mm handgun off a chair causing the weapon to discharge and shot Janice in her leg as it hit the ground.
Jones was transported by ambulance to Huntington Beach Hospital where she was treated before moving to Irvine Medical Center.

"It could have been worse,"reporter Rye said." The bullet hit two inches from the gas tank."

The dog that belonged to Janice is a Pomeranian named Tombo and was moved to the care of Huntington Beach Animal Control officers. The officers found a fresh cigarette burns on the dogs forehead.

" It could have done with a little less abuse and a few more pork chops,"animal control officer Janet Ngo said.

Animal abuse charges against Janice Jones are being explored by the animal control offices along with possible charges involving the gun accident being filled against her by the country's district office.

"Jones doesn't have a gun a permit for the gun," said Rye.
